Do you ever wonder why or how are some people wired to live like they have a magic wand? Why don't I have it? Does this ever cross your mind? Would people really resonate with me if I started posting all the ugliness? Oh God, it freaks me out to even think of doing that, with the lavender robe and all, haha. BUT why does it seem as if we are only drawn to the prettiness of the world? And not the truth, that I'm sure surrounds 99.9% of the majority? Wouldn't it be kind of amazing if we could all walk around with a snapchat filter of butterflies and shimmery snowflakes falling all around us? I'm mean it really does make us feel better, no matter what you're wearing!
In this amazing world that we live in though it would be nice every once in a while for us to all show a side of the ugliness that surrounds us just so the moms that live it every day can be assured that ugliness happens in even the most picture perfect of homes, even with the moms that always seem to have their S#%T together! This world of constantly trying to compare the world that you live in to someone else "dream world" is exhausting and I am so sorry to anyone whom I've projected to live in this manner. I LOVE that saying "Don't compare your behind the scenes to someone else highlight real." I mean isn't that the truth? So lets start by being a little more transparent, honest and compassionate for ourselves and others. Lets LOVE ON US today and know that we are all doing the best that we can.
Lots of love to all the moms out there though! It's a tough world but know that no matter what situation you are in, someone always has it worse. It's our responsibility to not judge BUT to love each person no matter their situation. This mom right here loves you for EXACTLY who you are... lavender robe and all!
xoxo,
CJ
This was seriously so needed today. I loved the "realness" of this, it was so refreshing. I wish we would all show more of our behind the scenes a little more instead of always feeling like we need to seem so perfect. Awesome post! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Bethany! I appreciate the kind words :)
DeleteOh CJ, so needed this right now! And I love the robe! I posted a simple photo of a new roll of toilet paper just sitting on the holder cuz everyone is my house is too lazy to actually take off the empty one and put on the new one. And the amount of likes and feedback was so great. It's nice to know we are not alone. I feel like I'm on a hamster wheel 90% of the time and that I'm barely staying above water. I also learned to not judge. We are all doing our best!! Thx for this!!
ReplyDeleteWell I love you Lisa no matter what! And you hit the nail on the head with just keeping your head above water, I think most of us feel this way. xoxo
DeleteLove it CJ! We all have such unique talents and gifts that if we learned to celebrate each other's lives and support each other as women we would all be a success in whatever we desire. We all dress up and feel beautiful and we all have that old robe or PJs so just be you because you are something special girlfriend.
ReplyDeleteI really appreciate you Cherie! Thank you for your kind words my friend! So happy to have you in my life! <3
DeleteLove, Love this!!! Not just as a mom but as a woman too this can apply to. I can that all of the time - the quote. I struggle with comparison. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThank you Tajuana. I think that if we all took a deep breath and realized that most of us are doing it we wouldn't be so tough on ourselves. xo
DeleteThis post hit home today as I fell back on my all too long to-do list with a clingy baby and wondering how other people do it. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteOh Katrina, it will get better... I promise! But right now hold onto that baby because before you know it it will too late and the last thing you want is to miss a special moment. *Talking as a mom who has a 18yo. :(
DeleteYou're so right!
ReplyDeleteThank you Josephine :)
DeleteCJ I enjoy your posts. They really hit home for me. Thanks for sharing. And I love your purple robe - just wish your messy desk was in the background ;) Kate
ReplyDeleteHaha! I thought about putting it in there but then it started giving me anxiety, lol! Maybe as I get more courage ;) Thank you for taking the time to comment. xo
