Ugly Christmas Sweater DIY: The Best Couples Ugly Christmas Sweaters...

Oh... Tis the Season... It's a time of year where friends gather together to boast this years best, YET UGLIEST Christmas sweaters!  Haha!  Well I don't know if you're anything like me or not, but store bought just wasn't an option!  No, no!  You see, I want something creative, something funny, something where people will be talking about it till the next year!  Hopefully I did just that with this year's creativity.
Oh where do you begin with this hilarious motif?  Well it was super easy and this is how I did it...

Get matching colored sweaters.  I will not be caught dead in something that doesn't flatter my figure so off to Ross I went...  I found this sweater for $17.99 and my Hubby's for only $6.99, gotta love those kind of department stores!

Next, it's time to get crafty!  I literally spent over an hour at Michael's for all the right decorative needs but finding pre cut letters were impossible.  I thought duct tape, but do you know how expensive that stuff is?  There was no way that this would have looked half as cute anyway.  So I bought red felt and Mod Podge traceable templates to make CHEST and NUTS.  I also picked up some Christmas decorations on sale.  I made the Christmas tree by just buying the green fuzzy chenille with wire already in it AND I thought the squirrel was a perfect extra to go right under that tree, lol!!!
What you will need:

2) 2-3 Felt Sheets
Bulk Buy: Darice DIY Crafts Sticky Back Stiff Felt Sheet Red 9 x 12 inches (5-Pack) FLT-0433
3) Snowflake Ornaments
Darice 1629-45 10-Piece Snowflake Ornament, 4-Inch, Glittered Gold
4) Ribbon
3/8" Glitter Ribbon
5) Squirrel Ornament
3" Snowy Winter Furry Brown Squirrel Christmas Ornament
6) Glitter Pom-Poms
Glitter Poms - 300 Pieces (Item GPOM)
7) Candy Cane Stripe Bows
Red Glitter Candy Cane Christmas Bow - available in 2 sizes
NOTE: Remember when placing the traceable letters on the felt to put them down backwards so that when you go to glue them on you won't see the pen mark on the front.
I had so much fun making these shirts!  I wonder what I'll come up with next year? ;)

PS - We won 1st Place!
